Spring Writing Workshops with Stockton Poet Laureate Jazmarie LaTour
Stockton’s Free Poetry Workshops: A Creative Space for All
Stockton poetry lovers, get ready to ignite your creativity this spring! Stockton Poet Laureate, Jazmarie LaTour, is hosting a series of free, all-ages poetry workshops designed to inspire and connect the community. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or someone who has never written a poem before, these workshops provide a welcoming space to learn, grow, and express yourself.
What to Expect
During each session, attendees will explore poetry by reading and analyzing poems to understand themes and metaphors. Participants will engage in writing exercises, warm-ups, and free-writing sessions, with prompts to help spark creativity. The workshops foster a supportive atmosphere, encouraging introductions and discussions that build connections among poets of all levels.

These readings offer a chance for participants to showcase their work in a supportive, public setting.
Past Success Stories
Previous attendees have left workshops feeling more confident in their writing, connected to fellow poets, and excited to return for more sessions. Many have discovered a newfound passion for poetry and storytelling.
A Welcoming Space for All
If you’ve never written poetry before and feel hesitant to join, don’t worry! These workshops are designed for everyone, regardless of experience level. Jazmarie encourages all participants to embrace their voices, stating, “This is an inclusive environment meant for all poetry experience levels. There will be something for everyone.
